Heya! Head on over to http://www.allankneale.com for the new site. It’s up and running, much in the ways a baby learns to walk. But I’ll overjoyously watch my website wobble alongside the coffee table and learn to stand on two legs.

GoosePoop Editorial Final
Here’s the final for the goosepoop editorial. It may already be up here deep in the process work i was putting up when this blog was a “sketch-a-day” one. So I’ll up in instead of digging around. Here ya go!

Sketchbook study
Went through and grabbed this from my sketchbook. It’s not as “cartoony” as what I usually do, but it’s fun nonetheless.

Edmund Fitzgerald Editorial (pursued option)
Here’s the piece I decided to use for the Edmund Fitzgerald editorial. It’s just about done, some finishing touches left to be made for sure though. I pursued the traditional watercolor and then scanned digital technique that I tried out at first in the Marijuana Editorial. It’s starting to get easier.

Crazy good find David! It’s inspiring, yet makes you hate your own work at the same time. How’s life after graduation? I got no one to share illustration joy with at work now.

Finished Medical Marijuana College Piece
Here’s the finished color comp for the Medical Marijuana College editorial. Medical Marijuana has led to “colleges” opening up to teach the growing, laws, and above other things, marijuana recipes, to those who enroll. I took a different approach and scanned in linework on bristol and attempted the coloring digitally.

Rad project, and really cool illustration. Personally I prefer the original on bristol more – the tooth provides a nice warmth to it that the digitally cleaned up version lacks, imo. Kudos for trying something new though!

Thanks, Dustin! I definitely know what you mean, the tooth of the original added that extra bit of something to it. Something I’m gonna keep in mind on the next project. Anyways, I checked out your site and gotta say that your work is pretty impressive (loved Geiger’s facehugger). Looking forward to seeing more!
